Tunisia is grieving after the announcement of the death of former President Ben Ali, who has been exiled in Saudi Arabia since his fall in 2011. According to several media reports, the former head of state died at his home in the Saudi kingdom.
President of the Tunisian Republic from November 7th, 1987 to January 14th, 2011, Ben Ali was ousted from power by a movement later described as the Arab spring. Last week, rumours circulated about his criticized state of health.
