Benin: Several schools shall not open their dors september 16th in the North

The latest rains and rising water levels in some parts of the country do not favor the school re-entry scheduled for Monday, September 16, 2019. Some schools in Karimama and Malanville will postpone their return to school due to flooding.

A few days before the start  for the 2019-2020 school year, some schools in northern Benin are flooded, making any school plan for the next Monday impossible. The municipalities of Karimama and Malanville are more affected by that situation.

For the Alibori Department authorities, the solution is to wait for  waters withdrawal  from these schools before beginning the re-entry. Subsequently, training will be provided to teachers to review the program’s implementation to catch up with other schools. No secondary schoool in Alibori department is affected by this flood situation, they say. So schoolchildren in these flood-affected communities will therefore be able to extend their holidays  for a few more days.
