RFI 2019 Discovery Award: Nasty Nesta selected among the 10 finalists

The 10 finalists of the Prix Découverte RFI were unveiled Monday, September 16, 2019 by the listening committee. Among them is Beninese artist Nasty Nesta.

Nasty Nesta the Beninese singer is a finalist of the RFI 2019 Discovery Award. With 9 other artists including Anycris (Ivory Coast); Bebe Baya (Guinea); Celine Banza (DRC); Cysoul (Cameroon); Lydol (Cameroon); NG Bling (Gabon), Social Mula (Rwanda), Yann’Sine (Morocco), Zonatan (Mauritius), Beninese Nasty Nesta will be put to the vote of a jury composed of artists and professionals, but also to that of the from today until October 16th on  www.prixdecouvertes.com

The winner of the RFI 2019 Discovery Prize will be announced on 7 November 2019 after the vote of the professional jury composed of international artists: A’Salfo, Charlotte Dipanda, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Fally Ipupa, Josey, Angélique Kidjo, Youssou N’Dour, Oumou Sangaré and Singuila as well as journalists from RFI and France 24, and representatives of partner organizations.

The RFI Discoveries Awards were created in 1981 to highlight, each year, the new musical talents of the African continent. This prize has already rewarded artists as diverse as Tiken Jah Fakoly, Rokia Traore, Didier Awadi, Amadou and Mariam, Canjo Amissi or Maurice Kirya.
