Ghanian international Asamoah Gyan joins an Indian first division club. The announcement was made by the north-east united club on thursday 19 September.

Ghana Black Stars centre-forward Asamoah Gyan flies to the Indian Championship. After several years at the highest level in Ligue 1 and Saper Lig, the Ghanaian serial goalscorer will discover the Indian Super League with north east united FC. The club announced the arrival of its star without giving details on the duration of the contract.

The next Season of Indian Super League, the sixth since the creation of this parallel championship to the local competition, will start on october 20 and the former Goalscorer of Kayserispor in Turkish  first division can make his debut on Indian soil. Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan, 33, has scored 51 goals in 106 caps for his country.
