The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will deploy a second Ebola vaccine in a few days.

Congolese Ebola control officials have announced that they have the option of introducing a second Ebola vaccine, manufactured by Johnson & Johnson, to fight the current epidemic.

In a statement, the team supervising the various measures against Ebola confirmed the project but did not specify when the second vaccine will be available. It will complement another vaccine manufactured by Merck, which has been administered to more than 225,000 people since August of last year. Since the beginning of the epidemic, thousands of people have already been killed by the disease. The WHO has declared an international emergency.
