The Bolloré group is no longer the container terminal concessionaire at the port of Douala in Cameroon. At the end of the selection procedure, a Swiss company takes over the market.
Vincent Bolloré’s group reign at the port of Douala in Cameroon has come to an end. And for cause, the Swiss group Terminal Investment Limited (TIL) has been awarded the concession for the container terminal at the port of Douala, the largest in Central Africa. According to a statement by its director, the recruitment procedure for an operator (…) resulted in the selection of Terminal Investment Limited (TIL). According to Cyrus Ngo’o, the director of the PAD, the new concessionaire will take over the management of this strategic terminal on January 1rst, 2020.
The French group, which had been excluded from the selection procedure, had brought an action before the courts to denounce its exclusion. But the Port Director had indicated that the choice of the new concessionaire was based on serious criteria that the latter did not respect. For 15 years, the Bolloré-APMT Terminals consortium ruled this major port platform in Central Africa.
